Ms Ross feels so passionately about offering real experiences in the classroom that she created a purpose-built construction centre.

With hanging doors, window frames and an outdoor bricklaying area, the Construction Diploma students have their hands full.

Ms Ross said: “This diploma is really oversubscribed and is helping more students move into the construction industry.

“They get to work on real projects and learning bricklaying and painting and decorating skills alongside qualified professionals who come in each week."
