Pear Productions

Four students from Alsop High School, in Walton, have set up a promotional advertising company called Pear Productions. The aim of this is part of Liverpool’s Great Enterprise Challenge in which schools compete to prove they have what it takes to run their own business and win a trip to Washington DC.

Pears have already won hundreds of pounds of business from both internal and external clients. The team have reached the top 10 of the enterprise challenge, a council-run event in which the city’s 170 schools were encouraged to set up entrepreneurial ventures.

Pear was set up five months ago and has produced eight videos for various clients, as well as advertising posters to be used at Alsop’s careers convention.

It recently won a £500 contract to produce short films for Alan McCarthy, founder of The Resource Development Centre and one of the world’s leading sales development consultants.

In early 2012 the team received contact from Jaguar/Land Rover in Speke, Liverpool. The team were asked if they would be able to produce ‘exhibition banners’ to be used at their new launch.
