As part of the literacy initiatives taking place at Alsop High School, several year 7s took part in a new event, ‘Speed Book’. Below is the report by Joseph Miller, year 7:

“On Friday 17 th June myself, Callum and the other students from ‘Page Turners Book Club, took part in ‘Speed Book’. Speed book is when you pick a book and start to review it and start talking to the other students about the book they have picked. But the catch is that you only have one minute to tell the other students about it. Everyone said that it was very fun and exciting because it was so quick and snappy. David quoted: “I liked everything about it, especially when the buzzer went off. It frightened the life out of me!”

It was a really fun morning and we can’t wait to do it again!”
