We do serve the educational needs of our local community and we have established strong links with our local primary schools. We value the importance of primary/secondary transfer although we must point out that we are a very popular school and remain heavily over-subscribed.

We are the largest secondary school in the city, with well over 1700 students on roll including over 300 in the 6th Form. We are a school of first choice and our aim is to provide a high quality education for all of our students.



We have improved the learning and teaching environment significantly in recent years and have broadened our curriculum to give our students a wide variety of subject choice, which in turn leads to greater opportunity for them. We employ specialist staff in all areas supported by a number of teaching support assistants. We also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which again give our students plenty of opportunities.
