Susan Black, director of communications at LFC, said:
"Community work has always been an integral part of Liverpool Football Club. For more than 20 years our community activity has been conducted by the club's Foundation across Merseyside and around the world with the support of their international partners".
"This new programme will focus on being a good neighbour and helping to make a difference in the Anfield community and the people who live and work within it. Through our research with the Anfield community we were able to identify four themes to focus our efforts and make a difference.
"'Red Neighbours' has already hosted a series of successful activities, including a Christmas party at Anfield for more than 400 local pensioners, LFC staff volunteering at All Saints Primary School and elderly care homes, and over 900 local schoolchildren have enjoyed a complimentary matchday at Anfield so far this season".
