Pupils from years 7-9 have started a six week food scholarship course. In conjunction with The Academy of Culinary Arts, Chef Ray Gallard-Oakley is working with students to improve their cooking skills. Our students have the opportunity to take part in an array of activities designed to stretch and challenge them, as well as enriching their experience of food preparation and nutrition. These include:
Making a variety of high skilled products and dishes
Investigating the science behind cooking
Taking part in local and national competitions such as “Future Chef”
The opportunity to attend trips to fine dining restaurants, work with chefs and attend cooking schools.
Acting as role models and sharing their passion for Food and Nutrition
Having the opportunity to help make decisions on the Healthy Schools Programme
