Alsop Remembers

As the world gets ready to commemorate 11 November 1918, Alsop students have attended a special act of worship to remember the end of World War One.

Students were reminded the centenary of the armistice is about commemorating the huge sacrifice of over an estimated 37 million military and civilian lives.

Mr Bull who led the collective worship comments:

“On Armistice Day Britain will mark one of the most significant moments in our nation’s history. One hundred years after the guns fell silent on the western front, each and every one of us can pause to reflect on the immense sacrifices that were made by so many.

Alsop students were reminded of the story of Percy Tucker and the 24 Walton “Pals” who perished during the Battle of the Somme.
