Year 7’s have attended their first school trip to Komaru outdoors. Kōmaru teaches bushcraft and survival skills, helping pupils to build their knowledge and experience. Today pupils tried their hand at new things and have had lots of fun in the outdoors. Pupils had a go at everything from learning to use camouflage and tracking people and animals, to lighting fires without matches and building shelters. They learnt how work together to make rope out of nettles, find water and cook survival food on a campfire. Some pupils were even brave enough to taste worms!
Mrs Powell said “This was a great way for pupils to make new friends in their new secondary school. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and got to try new things in a fabulous setting. “
