Year 7 students have recently returned from an amazing residential at Kingswood, Colomendy in North Wales.
This was organised by Mr Leatherbarrow as part of our bespoke transition programme. During the educational residential 91 students participated in team and confidence building activities. The weekend also was successful in improving communication skills and raising the self-esteem of our students.
Mr Leatherbarrow, Asst. Head of Year 7 comments:
The photographs demonstrate that the visit was really enjoyable and experiential educational opportunity. The students built positive relationships with both their peers and Alsop staff. The students were a credit to the school and their community. We were delighted that Colomendy staff commented on their positive attitude and behaviour.
This experiential education was able to break down the barriers of a more formal classroom environment and allowed our students to bond and to shine as leaders. The unmotivated became the most enthusiastic about developing a new skill. At Alsop feel passionate about giving these experiences to as many young people as possible. It's why we seek to broaden the opportunities for all Alsop students.
