UCAS Timeline

  • Don't forget you can include up to five choices on your UCAS Application form.
  • Make sure your personal statement is finished and checked by a member of staff by 31st October.
  • The internal deadline to send your application is 18th November 2016
  • Remember to attach your application to Alsop High School using the buzzword!
  • Remember to attach yourself to your form group eg 13ADO
  • Are you unsure whether to apply or not? Register anyway!
  • Do you need more guidance? Talk to your form tutor of the sixth form team!


15 October 2016
Applications for Oxford, Cambridge or most courses in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine/science should arrive at UCAS by 18:00 (UK time). The reference has to be completed before the application can be sent to us.

18 November 2016
Internal deadline for completed applications to be sent. You will have to press pay and send. Student contribution reference form should be handed in to your allocated referee. Failure to do this could delay your UCAS application being sent off on time. Any applications submitted after this date are at risk of not being sent to UCAS on time for official deadline.

15 January 2017
Applications for the majority of courses should arrive at UCAS by 18:00 (UK time) (check course details for the correct deadline). The reference has to be completed before your application can be sent to UCAS.

25 February 2017
UCAS Extra begins.

24 March 2017
Applications for some art and design courses should arrive at UCAS by 18:00 (UK time). (Others have a 15 January deadline – check course details to confirm the correct deadline.) The reference has to be completed before your application can be sent to us.

6 May 2017
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 31 March, you must reply to any offers by this date (except for Extra) or they will be declined.

7 May 2017
If you applied by the January deadline and you are still waiting, universities will decide whether they are making an offer by now (otherwise those choices are automatically made unsuccessful).

4 June 2017
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 7 May, you must reply to any offers by this date (except for Extra) or they will be declined.

25 June 2017
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 4 June you must reply to any offers by this date (unless you applied in Extra) or they will be declined.

30 June 2017
If you send your application to UCAS by 18:00 (UK time), they will send it to your chosen universities and colleges; after this date you enter Clearing.

2 July 2017
Last date to apply through Extra.

16 July 2017
If you applied by 30 June and are waiting for decisions, universities and colleges will decide whether or not they will make you an offer by this date.

23 July 2017
If you receive all university/college decisions by 16 July – including Extra choices – you must reply to any offers by this date (or they will be declined).

17 August 
GCE and Advanced Diploma results day – and the start of the full Clearing vacancy search. Adjustment opens for registration.

31 August 2017
The deadline for any remaining conditions to be met – otherwise the university or college might not accept you – plus Adjustment ends.

21 September 2017
The final deadline for applications to 2015 courses. Applications must arrive at UCAS by 18:00 (UK time).

30 September 2017
The Clearing vacancy search closes; you can still add Clearing choices in Track, but contact universities/colleges to discuss vacancies first

21 October 2017
The deadline for adding Clearing choices and universities or colleges accepting Clearing applicants.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – EU Funding
The government has confirmed funding support for EU applicants.  European Union students applying for university places in the 2017 to 2018 academic year will still have access to student funding support.
