Our school is at the heart of our community, as the largest high school in our vibrant City of Liverpool we have been serving the families of Walton for over 100 years and are steeped in history. We are “Team Alsop” with a strong sense of community.

Since our founding in 1919 and named after James W. Alsop, we have a rich history and a commitment to nurturing the potential of each student that walks through our doors and we are a cornerstone of education in Liverpool. We embrace our responsibility to provide a first-class education to a diverse and vibrant community.

Established under the Liverpool Education Committee, Alsop High School has been a bedrock of academic excellence for over a century. We commenced our journey on Queens Drive in 1926, and over the years, our school has witnessed significant growth and transformation. We have expanded our facilities to include a dining annex, an assembly hall, a library and multiple art rooms.  As time progressed, we continued to evolve, adding new science laboratories and a gym. In 2020 an £8.4 million investment completed an improved 6th form facility, reception area, atrium  and modernized classrooms including humanities, English Learning Pods and an inspiring dance and activity studio.

We have invested in high-quality learning environments and cutting-edge technology with modern PCs and laptops, interactive whiteboards and using the latest software our students have the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.

In November 2020, we embarked on a new chapter by converting to academy status. Today, we are part of the Omega Multi-Academy Trust, who are driven by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential within every student and offering the best school experience to all.

We have an inclusive ethos; everything we do is based on our core values Ambition, Respect and Community. We might be a big place, but we are no less committed to individual support and our schools’ size is matched by the size of its heart.  We empower our students to harness creativity, to raise their aspirations and to achieve their potential.
