This week, our Year 9 students began their journey into the exciting world of beauty therapy at Rise and Glo, our state-of-the-art salon facility. Located within the Rise and Thrive setting, this fully equipped salon offers a unique and inspiring opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in beauty and hairdressing.

During their first week, students were introduced to essential skills that form the foundation of salon life. They worked with professional heated equipment, including straighteners and curling wands, under the guidance of our professionally qualified staff. These sessions aim to build both confidence and practical abilities, setting the stage for future career opportunities in the beauty industry.

The beauty salon initiative at Alsop High School is designed to prepare students for apprenticeships or college placements, giving them a head start in a competitive field. The combination of real-world experience and expert mentoring helps students develop valuable skills while exploring their passions.
